There were 62 delegates from around the world who competed the Miss Universe 1973. Margarita Moran was the the pageant's second winner from the Philippines, admitted she didn't even want to enter Miss Philippines, much less Miss Universe. She was encouraged by her friends to do so and look where that got her. In one of her interviews, she had praised Mr. Richard Nixon, then US president, and said that he was the greatest man on Earth. | | Remembering Suzanne Pleshette | | Anyone who watched TV in the 80s or went to the movies in the 50s or 60s will remember Suzanne Pleshette. She died yesterday of respiratory failure as a result of a long battle with lung cancer. She will be most fondly remembered for her role as Bob Newhart's wife in "The Bob Newhart Show". But she also starred in beach party movies in the sixties, and played Annie, the schoolteacher who rents a room in her Bodega Bay home to Tippi Hedren in "The Birds". And, one of her latest roles was Leona Helmsley the hotelier "Queen of Mean" in a TV biopic.erse. She was encouraged by her friends to do so and look where that got her. | | Is appreciation ever an issue when it comes to your significant other? | | So I love my boyfriend to death but there are alot of times I don't feel appreciated for all that I do. And I do alot! At the moment I am the only one with the job and paying bills, putting gas in the car, etc. I am also the only one with a licensce so I end up driving him around when he needs it. I'm not sure what to make of it.While I disagree with spanking, and I'm not sure how much of an impression it makes on toddlers, I'm leery of a law like this. It fails to distinguish between "spanking" and "beating" or "abusing."Not all physical punishment is abusive. Spanking is just that -- smacking a kid's bottom with one's*open hand*.
