| Being born in the year 1965, you get to experience a lot of things in the last 40 years or so. The first man on the moon, the assasinations of Martin Luther King, Woodstock, etc. Even the emergence of Beatlemania. The only thing still around today is the music: Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Janis Joplin. Though they have passed on as people, their words and music will live on for a long time to come. That's is why the oldies are so important to me, it never goes out of style. Even radio stations of today are still playing them. People still remember most hits, and can even remember the lyrics verbatim. Simple things you can still pass on from generation to generation.
