myLot Discussions about Stevie Ray Vaughn Memorabilia
If you like listening to guitar...
you should really love Stevie Ray Vaughn. Though he is no longer with us, his music remains. If you want to get a peek, I recommend youtubing Live at the ElMacombo. To me, this was his most powerful live performance. Texas Flood is probably my fave song of the thing.Stevie seems so comfortable with his guitar, almost as if it were an extension of his heart. You can see it in his face, in his sweat, and in his calloused hands. With his brimmed hats, and one of a kind shirts (not to mention his baby, Lenny), Stevie is down in the books as one of the greatest blues artists of recent history.I saw this under my interests and I couldn't let my dude stay buried!! So, go listen and tell me what you think!
Do you remember that tune by Stevie ray vaugh?
something about Rose Paradise I have always love that tune. I wish I could find the CD. somewhere where can't I find it? Name some tunes you like. they was so sad him getting in a Airplay Crash. him and Eric Clapton use to sing and play together am I right?
Who out there is or was a big fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan?
I think he was a great blues player, his versions of Hendrix songs were fantastic and he died at young age. So tell me you´re favourites or what ever you think about him.
Bear with me here...
This is probably a really, really insane question, but do you have any songs, singers, or music groups that you hate so much that either hearing them or seeing them literally leaves a bad taste in your mouth? I have a few.1.)Eric Clapton/every one of his songs2.)Steely Dan/every one of their songs3.)Stevie Ray Vaughn/every last one of his songs4.)The new school Bon Jovi music--if I wanted to listen to country music, I'd turn the radio dial to a country station5.)Blues music in general
favourite scene from a movie
Being a musical buff, among all the music genres i like, blues rank highly in my book...in terms of movies i ve watched about blues music, there is 1 scene from the movie 'Crossroads' which is still my all time favourite, guitar duel between the devil and the hero.Simple plot, devil challenges the hero to a guitar showdown, staking his soul as the prize, coz he sold his soul to the devil to be an ultimate rock and blues guitarist,Finale is when he wants to win back his soul in a guitar duel and takes the devil up on his challenge.Winner takes all!Scott Baio,Morgan Freeman had the lead roles and the mind blowing guitar duel sequence was provided by the late stevie ray vaughn(fronted by Scott) and Steve Vai who played the devil's representative and played the guitar duel onscreen personally..2 rock and blues masters duking it out onscreen..man..what a trip! Can be seen in You Tube! Guitar duels..!What is your favourite scene from a movie or Tv show thats most memorable to you?
Would anyone like to help me with my Christmas present for my boyfriend?
Among other things, I want to make him a mixed tape (and by tape, I mean CD), but I just realized that I don't know of many (if any) romantic songs that seem appropriate for men. All the really heartfelt songs I know seem to be girly or just something that my boyfriend would not appreciate. He likes all kinds of music really, but he is more of a rock guy than anything else. Some of his favorite bands/artists are Metallica, Anberlin, Cobra Starship, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and pretty much any classic rock group ever. Does anyone have any suggestions for some songs or artists that I should look into for the CD?Oh, and if you have any good sentimental gift ideas, I am open to that too. Right now I'm thinking that I'm going to do a scrapbook, but that idea doesn't have me particularly delighted, so I am open to other suggestions.
What Kind of Music Do You Prefer to Play Whenever You Jam?
I am new here in MyLot and I want to post a topic about playing an instrument or music since I am a music lover and a guitarist. In your opinion, what kind of music do you prefer to play with your instrument whenever you jam?Me, I prefer rock music, jazz and blues. With my acoustic guitar I play songs with the likes of Lemonheads, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and a lot more.
The music you can't live without.
If, for some reason, the world were to end and you could pack up your iPod with any song choice or album, as much as it would hold, and that would be all that you would ever have again, what would those songs and albums be? Here are a few of mine. The White Album by The Beatles Jagged Little Pill (the entire album) by Alanis Morrisette American Pie by Don McCleon The best of Santana by Santana The Greatest Hits of Elivs by Elvis I Got You Babe by Sonny and Cher The Nutcracker Suite by Tchykovsky An American in Paris by Gershwin Kind in Blue by Miles Davis The Wall by Pink Floyd Led Zepplin Volumes 1 through 4 by Led Zepplin Thriller by Michael Jackson The Blue Danube by Strauss The Dirty Boogie by The Brian Setzer Orchestra Voice of an Angel by Charlotte Church Live at Carnegie Hall by Stevie Ray Vaughn Old and In the Way by Jerry Garcia and David Grisman The Best of the Doors by The Doors Bathhouse Betty by Bette Midler Forest Gump Soundtrack The Greatest Hits of B.B. I've had my eye on a couple of B.C. Rich guitars that I really like, so today I stopped in to the guitar shop where I get my strings and stuff looking to sell my 12 string Ibanez and leave with a new B.C. Rich. The 12 string is a fine guitar but not as much fun as I thought it would be when I bought it, I rarely play it. The shop owner was out and one of his instructors was running the shop. He took my guitar and gave me a receipt so I could leave it for the owner to appraise and make an offer. Then we got to talking about guitars and I told him I had my eye on a couple of the B.C. Rich guitars. He asked why I wouldn't rather have a Fender or a Martin and I explained that while they are fine instruments, they are pricey and I personally feel you are paying more for the name. Yeah okay, I'm cheap! He asked what I liked about the B.C. Rich guitars and we discussed it for a while and I asked him if he liked to do hammer ons and pull offs. He grinned wide and said of course. I grabbed one of the least expensive B.C. Rich guitars, model Bronze, and we hooked it up to an amp. For the next hour and a half we took turns playing and discussing music. It was a wonderful time. I...
