House of Wax 1953 film, who among you guys have seen this movie?
Summary: Professor Henry Jarrod (Vincent Price) is devoted wax figure sculptor for his museum in 1910s NYC. When his financial partner, Matthew Burke (Roy Roberts), demands more sensational exhibits to increase profits, Jarrod refuses. In retaliation, Burke torches the museum for the insurance money, leaving Jarrod for dead. Miraculously, Jarrod survives (though his hands and legs are rendered useless) and builds a new House of Wax with help from threatening deaf-mute sculptor, Igor (Charles Bronson). The museum's popular "Chamber of Horrors" showcases both famous crimes and more recent ones, like the murderer of Jarrod's former business partner by a cloaked, disfigured killer. Burke's fiancee Cathy Gray (Carolyn Jones), is also attacked. But when Cathy's friend, Sue Allen (Phyllis Kirk), visits the museum, she makes a discovery that leads to the horrifying truth behind the House of Wax: it is full of murdered people coated in wax. I'm curious about this film, I want to watch this. I think this is also as nice as the House of Wax 2005 staring Paris Hilton and others.
older movies
i really enjoy watching the older type movies. my favourites are the humphrey bogart, james cagney, charles bronson... these were real tough blokes... and they didn't need to swear either
Is there an actor or actress that you absolutely hate?
For years I didn't like Adam Sandler and I just refused to watch his movies. Now I am slowly getting used to him but if there is a movie on that doesn't include him, I am going to watch it first.I never liked the looks of charles bronson, yes he was a great actor but I just couldn't look at him. Of course we are talking about when I was much younger.
What is your favorite COWBOY movie?
Do you like the old black and white 'oaters' from the early 20th century with John Wayne, Randolph Scott, etc.? How about more modern ones with Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson, Terrence Hill, etc? Convince me why I should see the one you chose.
What happened to the world war 2 movie stars
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hollywood stars in wartime WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WW II MOVIE STARS With the advent of World War II many of our actors went to fight rather than stand and rant against this country we all love. They gave up their wealth, position and fame to become service men & women, many as simple "enlisted men".This page lists but a few, but from this group of only 18 men came over 70 medals in honor of their valor, spanning from Bronze Stars, Silver Stars, Distinguish Service Cross', Purple Hearts and one Congressional Medal of Honor. Most of these brave men have since passed on. Real Hollywood HeroesAlec Guinness (Star Wars~Bridge over the River Kwai) operated a British Royal Navy landing craft on D-Day.James Doohan ("Scotty" on Star Trek) landed in Normandy with the U. S. Army on D-Day.Donald Pleasance (The Great Escape) really was an R. A. F. pilot who was shot down, held prisoner and tortured by the Germans. David Niven was a Sandhurst graduate and Lt. Colonel of...
